Adding songs to my MagicSing system (5 posts)

I was told by the salesman that sold me my ET19KV Diamond MagicSing home system at Anson in Makati Philippines that I could download karaoke files and play them back. Obviously that’s what all of us karaoke lovers want, right? If a song comes out this month, I want to add it. I don’t want to wait for the MagicSing company to come out with a new chip a year later with a bunch of other garbage songs on it most of which I already have and charge me some ridiculous price for the whole bit of nonsense. Did I get screwed? Should I have bought a better system? I hope MagicSing can redeem itself and give me a way to do what is obvious I (and everyone else) would want to do. :)

Hi Steve. I’m sorry, but that option is not yet available. The ET-19KV has the recording capability, wherein you may record while you’re singing, play it back to see how you did, transfer it to the computer (using a recording pack, not included in the package) and make your own cd out of it. But no, you cannot download karaoke files from the internet and incorporate it to your system. Of course, I am referring to the features of the ET-19KV here in the United States. As far as I know, it should have the same features as the one in the Philippines. I suggest that you contact the store where you bought it from, and ask them a step-by-step procedure on how they do it.

I think there should be an online purchase system where songs can be selected to be burned into a custom song chip. The cost would be low if we can put more songs into one chip. Why hasn’t entertech done this?

I’ve recently encountered a problem with my magic sing eg18000. I bought two new song chips; pop 20 and pop 21 as they were the only two song chips that didn’t contain songs I already have in the extensive internal song library of the eg18000. I also ordered Portuguese 2 songchip. All three of the chips are dark grey unlike the silver colored Spanish chip I also have plugged in.

The Portuguese chip works fine but the Pop 20 and 21 just don’t register no matter what chip combination I use. I installed one Pop chip in different slots and also at one point all 4 chips at once and all different combinations in between. Always the same result : Spanish and Portuguese work, Pop 20 and 21 don’t.

Now I’ve read somewhere online, and the company I ordered from also told me that it doesn’t matter if it’s the grey chip or the silver chip combined with the eg18000. The grey one should be compatible with all magic sing sysytems. Still they don’t register.

I’m thinking maybe a firmware update might fix this ?? i have no clue how to perform this nor if it is even possible.

Does anyone have a solution to my problem?

Hi! Peter. Downloading of songs from the internet is not yet available. Atleast, here in the United States. Enter Tech will have a hard time pulling that off, since they will have a lot of licensing issues.
