Music and its Effect on Your Child’s Self Esteem

When I was younger, I always wanted to learn musical instruments. I saw how my friends and classmates feel confident as they play songs using various instruments that they know. Somehow I am one of those people who don’t know how to play any music instrument. Back then, when you know how to sing, play the guitar or any other musical instruments other children will think of you as “cool”. I admit, even now I am not a good singer and I dreamt of performing in front of my friends and family singing as loudly as I can. Even though that it didn’t have any effect on me now, I know that it contributed on me being shy always. Whenever there are plays and we need to perform something I always try to hide myself because I felt I was not good enough. Luckily for me I was able to break my shyness and live life to the fullest. So if you have a child, a niece or nephew I suggest that you enroll them in a music program where they can develop their skills, talents and meet new friends. This will also help boost the child’s confidence because he knows that he can achieve something if he put his 100 % on it.
